A Associação Presente periodically carries out campaigns to receive the donation of hair to be used in the making of wigs intended for women who take the treatment against cancer.
Social worker Shaila de Jesus Ferreira, from the Associação Presente, explains that all women with cancer patients receive a borrowed wig, provided by the institution. The beneficiary has to return the wig only when their hair returns to the ideal size. The wig is produced by companies of the branch located in Montes Claros, which act voluntarily. For every three pounds of hair are produced five wigs on average.
